"Anatomy of an idea"
Watercolor & ink on claybord
16" x 20"
A mediation on: that bright initial spark of creativity.
How does it start, where does it come from?
A spark, a flicker, a whisper.
Dissect and examine, or just let it flow?
Ideas come, ideas go
What if ideas are more alive than not. What if they simply want to be realized, birthed? And if you shall not be their vessel, perhaps another will be. I’ve long loved the thought that ideas are almost sentient, driven by a purpose to be claimed, poured into, turned into action, brought into reality. One wonders these things, like where creativity comes from, what ignites that spark and allows it to catch, during long hours of painting and making.
What a lovely notion, to work alongside our ideas. An honor to be chosen to fulfill them by bringing them to life.
