"Raindrops & Refractions"

Watercolor on paper

42"x30"

Sometimes we see things and fall in love with them instantly. The way light plays or the way colors coexist. Have you ever looked at raindrops on a window screen? I mean really looked at them. The way an image is blurred, change, distorted, but also still present- it’s really lovely. And it feels like you’re looking at a memory or a dream instead of through water at reality. Such beauty in a mostly unnoticed detail.

This piece was painted vertically instead of laying flat. Hot press paper was primed with 3/16" grid lines, measured and drawn by hand. Painted with an extra half inch border, for framing.
